![]() His extant works include 7 violin concertos, 4 concerti grossi, a Sinfonia, 2 sonatas for Violin and Basso Continuo, and a Sonata for Solo Violin. Pisendel's compositions reflect German, Italian, and French characteristics. Albinoni, Telemann, and Vivaldi were only a few of the eminent composers who wrote works for him. He accompanied the Elector to Berlin (1728, 1744) and Warsaw (1734). In 1849 he gave a command performance before Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. In 1845 he made his London debut, and sang with the Phil. He served as court singer to the King of Wurttemberg in Stuttgart from 1844 to 1863. From 1840 to 1848 he toured throughout Germany, appearing in both opera and concert. In 1835 he made his operatic debut in Prague. He was trained in the law before taking up music.
